Siemens MCB's
5SY6 Miniature Circuit Breakers are a high capacity range of breakers up to 6kA. The devices are approved for worldwide use according to IEC standards for systems of 230/400 V, 50-60 Hz with a maximum permissable range of 250/440V AC. The MCB's are also suitable in DC systems up to 60 V DC per pole.
5SY6 are available with either a Type C curve (5SY6***-7) or a Type D curve (5SY6***-8). Type C MCB's are used for general line protection and are especially advantageous with higher inrush currents i.e. for lighting and motor circuits. Type D MCB's have a different tripping range adapted to operating equipment involving significant pulse generation common in circuits containing transformers and solenoid valves.
For industrial applications and in plant engineering, the 5SY6 MCB's can be supplemented with additional components, such as Auxiliary Switches (5ST3010, 5ST3011), Busbar Systems (5ST37) and also End Caps (5ST37) are all available to order separately.
